Yo, I thought I’d share a new joint I made called “Summer Hues.” I made this track right before I headed out to Barcelona, to play at Sónar Festival.
I left the hot, sticky and humid climate of Greater Washington D.C. and traveled well across ‘the pond’ to a new world, so-to-speak.
My time spent over in Barcelona was full of adventure, growth and learning. The weather was beautiful, and the women were beautiful too; time was spent at the beach of course!
I had a great time, and this track “Summer Hues” reflects my sentiment for my favorite season. The track is warm, relaxing, and changeable like summer breeze, yet still retains a character of it’s own.
I hope you all ENJOY listening to this track as much as I did creating it! Peace & Love
How’s your summer going? Well it’s just got better.I present to you, “Summer Hues.”
You can download this track over in the ‘downloads‘ section

Buuut,
Here are a few of the tracks that I recorded over in London, with the amazingly talented ODDISEE, and TRANQILL. Check em out.
Also check this FREsh compilation, which feature more ’00goodness’ and many more quality tracks recorded during the 2010 Red Bull Music Academy.

More news on the way…
and I’m ouuuut.
Aaaaaaachooo… your boy is sick … literally.
After 2 weeks of partying, and no sleep or exercise what do you expect? It was fucking worth it.
The best fucking two weeks of my life…so far. My only regret is not chronicling the trip day by day.

Red Bull Music Academy! Where to begin?
——-
It began with the infamous application form. I took a couple of days to finish filling out the application; I would write for a while, then fatigue would kick in, so of course I would drink warm milk take a nap. Eventually I managed to complete the application, and the demo CD.
Fast forward a few months, I receive an email from Red Bull asking about tea. Ok?
Turns out I got accepted!
Fast forward.
I’m in London, and immediately I connect with those I have the most in common with; my brothers/sisters in sound.
That being said let me take this space to shout out some lovely people that I genuinely bonded with.
Check these cats out:
(in no order)
Swede:art, Manzilla, J. Gomes, Marco Passarani, Infestus, Cherry Chan, Illum Sphere, Lunice, Oddisee, Tranqil, Beni Blanco (from Barnet), AD Bourke, Benji B, DZA, Hudson Mo, KidKanevil, Ango, Ross Mchenry, Mike Slott, Monosylabikk, Martyn, SDC, Mr. Hudson, Moises, Gabriel, Hiro, Homeless inc
I’m sure there were more people, but it’s all good… my brain is numb right now.
The whole experience was overwhelming in a beautiful way. I learned SO MUCH, direct and indirect, about music and about life!
So many people that I thought lived on a cloud somewhere were all of a sudden right in front of me shaking my hand, lol.
Flylo came in and shared live set ideas etc. Hudmo wasn’t hard to find in the studios. Martyn’s lecture was amazing. Oddisee and Tranqil dropped by and recorded a few tracks. Lot’s of interviews and Benji B showed mad love; gave me my first gig at Deviation, and featured me on his 1Xtra show…what?!

I never felt this much love in my life. RBMA/London is the place to be.
I have so many stories; some embarassing, but most are glorious.
“All I can say is 10 will get you 2!”
I’m so inspired to get on my grind, and get on the road again!
Thank you Red Bull for an awesome time. The organization was godlike. I’ll never forget you guys, and this whole experience.
It’s so bittersweet that it’s all over, and that it will never be like this again, and I will most likely never meet all these people again (at least not in the same conditions), but that makes me want to work harder. I miss all of my family out there now scattered across the globe.
I must say I was a little reckless out there, but I’m still alive, and it was all in good fun!
Once this cold is over, I’m back to music… I’m bursting with joy right now.
My words do the experience no justice, I urge you to find out what it’s all about for yourself!
RBMA has changed my life, opened my mind, and most of all, opened my heart.
1 Love
